Dr. Gopu Potty is a Research Professor of Ocean Engineering at University of Rhode Island. His primary research interests include Underwater Acoustics, Acoustical Ocenography, Acoustic Signal Processing and Marine Bio-acoustics. Over the last few years he and Prof. Miller has been developing Long Range Sediment Tomography as a technique for the rapid estimation of the properties of the ocean bottom sediments. Over the last few years he has months at sea on six difference field experiments in different parts of the world. He teaches OCE 561 (Inroduction to Oceanographic Data Analysis) during the Fall semester.
